LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). James is known as King James and is considered to be among the greatest basketball players of all time. James was awarded four NBA championships, four NBA MVPs as well as three MVPs of the All-Star team and 2 Olympic medals. James has scored the second most career goals and seventh most assists. James has been named as an NBA All-Star 18 times. It is a NBA record that he's been an NBA All-Star for 18 years. He has played in the 10 NBA Finals, the third-most ever. The streak spans eight consecutive years between 2011-2018. James was selected for his way onto the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. He was the first NBA player to reach 10,000 career points. James was a basketball player for St. Vincent St. Mary High School in his home town in Akron Ohio and was heavily touted by the national media for his potential as an NBA star. As a prep to pro his dream, it was the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the first pick overall during the NBA draft of 2003. He was named the NBA player of the year for 2004. He soon became one of the best players in the NBA as he won both the NBA MVP Award twice in as of 2009 and in 2010. In the end, he failed to capture the championship Cleveland James left in 2010 as a free agent in order to become a member of Miami Heat. Miami Heat this was announced in the television special The Decision and is among the most controversial free-agent choices throughout sports history.
